The reading period is now CLOSED for our forthcoming season. The dates for the residency are 18th May-1st June, 2025.
Judge: Mona Zote
Mona Zote is a poet living in Aizawl. Her poetry has appeared in various journals including the Cordite Poetry Review, Indian Literature, IQ Magazine, India International Centre Quarterly, Carapace, Sangam House as well as in anthologies such as Dancing Earth: An Anthology of Poetry from North-East India, the Oxford Anthology of Writings from North-East India, and The Borderlands of Asia: Culture, Place, Poetry.
Poets applying must not have published a full-length book of poems. Self-published books are fine. Work translated into English is fine. At this point of time we can only offer the residency to Indian poets based in India (meaning they live in India). Non-Indian poets who are based in India on a permanent basis are free to apply.
*This season a spot is reserved for a poet based in Meghalaya. If you are applying and are based in Meghalaya, please do mention that and any other relevant details in your email to us.
There is no specific age-limit.
Please email us anything between 6-10 poems with your contact details in the body of the mail and attach a single file of poems in regular font (unless your work/context demands that it be stylized a particular way) with no identifying markers, such as name etc. – the submissions will be read blind.
If you have any questions please reach out to us over message or email at aranyerpoetryresidency@gmail.com / avinabbdatta@gmail.com
